While sprint star Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce may not have won the prize for Female Athlete of the Year after her stunning return to the track, it seems she can’t stop winning.
This time around, it’s a picture of her following her 100m triumph in Doha at the World Championships that has been selected as the best photograph of the year, according to the World Athletics (formerly the IAAF).
THE TITLE OF THE PHOTO IS “I’M BACK! IT’S POSSIBLE.” — FELIX SANCHEZ ARRAZOLA
The photograph was snapped by Felix Sanchez Arrazola, a Spanish photographer with experience in the field which may have contributed to him taking a picture that depicted the happiness found in triumph that Shelly-Ann felt at the time.
Sanchez noted that the title of the photo is “I’m back! It’s possible.” He shared that he was happy but surprisingly enough, admitted that Shelly-Ann’s photo was not his first choice, but after getting feedback from others, he ultimately chose that photograph and it paid off.
