NACAC AA President Victor Lopez traveled on an official visit to the island of Nevis invited by the government and sport authorities to witness and inspect the construction and installation of a brand new Mondo track and stadium. The Mondo track will have nine lanes around the oval. And, a 200 meter track of the same Mondo surface is being installed for warm up.
The second stage of the new facility will be the construction of the grandstands with capacity for 5,000 spectators with all modern facilities and technology to be able to hold a high level international competition. They will have enough space to place portable bleachers around the oval to elevate the capacity to 12,000 spectators.

President Lopez attended the inter high championships an event that was not held since 2003 and he was impressed with the talent of the athletes participating, the organization and the crowd that filled the whole stadium.
President Lopez expressed that in one or two years Nevis will be able to host any NACAC championship and even will be a perfect site for an area permit meeting with professional athletes.
Next official visit for President Lopez will be to island of Anguilla to hold meetings with government and sport authorities and to attend the inter primary championships.
