Shaunae Miller-Uibo continued her impressive form this season with another scintillating run at Saturday’s (24 April) Oregon Relays.

Miller-Uibo, who was among the first set of athletes to test the new track and stadium facility, dropped 49.08 seconds, the fastest 400m in the world this year. The time also beat Sanya Richards-Ross’ facility record of 49.29.
The Bahamian Olympic Games champion is also the women’s 200m world leader with 22.03.

“We’ve been working on getting our strength up, and now that we are in the middle of the season,” said Miller-Uibo, who said the 400m is her favourite event.

“We are going to work on speed and getting ready to put down some great performances in the 200s,” she added.

Americans Lynna Irby, 50.28 and Jessica Beard, 50.38, were the runners-up.
