A Jamaican team of 39 athletes, including multiple global gold medallists Elaine Thompson-Herah and Asafa Powell, has been selected for the World Athletics Relays Silesia 21 on 1-2 May.

Jamaica will be represented in seven events, including the women’s and men’s 4x100m, 4x200m and 4x400m plus the shuttle hurdles relay.

Thompson-Herah – who was part of the third-placed 4x200m team at the last edition of the event in Yokohama in 2019 – has been named for the women’s 4x100m and 4x200m squads, while Powell is included in the men’s 4x100m team.

Stephenie Ann McPherson, a member of Jamaica’s winning 2015 world 4x400m team, has been selected for that event along with her teammate Shericka Jackson, who also claimed 2019 world 4x100m gold.

Nathon Allen, who anchored Jamaica to the runner-up spot in Yokohama three years ago and also has Olympic and world medals to his name, is again in the 4x400m squad.

Commonwealth 110m hurdles champion Ronald Levy is among those named for the shuttle hurdles relay.
