Dacres started off the year by winning the Commonwealth Games title, later adding the NACAC accolades before beating the world to claim the Diamond League and Continental crowns.

Dacres is also NACAC’s Male Athlete of the Year.

Traves Smikle, another athlete coached by Robinson, was also in the mix. He took silver at both Commonwealth Games and NACAC Senior Championships. He was also the bronze medal winner at the CAC Games.

At the Junior level, Robinson is also responsible for the gold medal success ofKai Chang, who won the World U20 discus title.

Zackery Dillon Carifta U17 shot put and discus titles added to Robinson’s 2018 achievements.

“I am honoured and humbled,” Robinson replied when asked to comment on being named NACAC Coach of the Year.

“It says a lot about the advancement of the throws in Jamaica and NACAC region,” he said.
